When you choose to volunteer in Vientiane, you will benefit from an incredible cultural experience in Laos. During your placement you can:
Slow down a little. Laos culture is laid-back. Even when you are busy with your work, you will find you still have time to catch your breath and move at a slower pace.
Immerse yourself in the country’s Buddhist history. Make time to visit one of Laos’ many temples and monuments. That Luang, Laos’ most sacred Buddhist temple, stands 148 feet tall and dates back to the 16th century.
Experience the Night Market. After work, take a sunset stroll to the Mekong Riverside promenade—it’s a great place to buy a souvenir to remind you of your time working in Laos.
Enjoy the local food. Local fruits and vegetables abound. Laos is also home to many regional specialties; you may be surprised to learn Vientiane is one of the cheapest places to indulge in French cuisine.
Choose a different way to get around. By foot, by bicycle, by tuk-tuk, bus or taxi, there are so many ways to travel in and around Vientiane.
